Ledet restaurant is named after the daughter of Hiwot, our restaurant’s original founder. This name was chosen because Hiwot’s daughter, Ledet, was born on the birth date of Jesus, or Christmas, according to the Ethiopian calendar. In Amharic, a Semitic language spoken widely in Ethiopia, “ledet” means birthday!
Ledet is a family-owned and operated business with an outstanding reputation for excellent food and customer service. As the winner of the Agere Award 2006: Best in Food, we pride ourselves on the quality of our food and our friendly staff.
Since the opening in 2007, we have continued to progress toward perfection, both in our dishes and service. Our mission is always to offer our customers high-quality, traditional Ethiopian cooking complemented with friendly service.
